Love and Care for His Little One’s ministry held an awareness event and worship night in partnership with McLean Bible Church on July 6that McLean Bible Church in Vienna Virginia. The event included presentation by Rahel Asheber the team coordinator, Bemnet Woldemichael our US focal point, two former KVI kids named Adanch and Tsegaye Geiger who currently reside in the USA , an amazing worship by Singer Dawit Getachew one of the leader of this team, a music band and vocalists from the DC Area, a presentation from McLean Church by Sister Naomi Haile and small fund raising by Intern-Pastor Muluneh Taye - a volunteer as well. Many volunteers supported the event by participating in many roles. Two small kids with the help of their mother who sold the cookie also gave color to the awareness event and worship night with her fundraising efforts through the sale of more than 100 cookies and raising 400$. Overall, many who participated were engaged and happy to learn about the challenge our country faces in supporting orphanages to raise the next generation. This was an eye opening for many. Many of them promised to engage themselves by giving what has been given to them freely through our Lord Jesus Christ in terms of their time, talent or any resource available at their hand. And more over, they said they want to befriend to one or many orphans in Ethiopia. It was also presented that “Ethiopia has over 4.5 million orphanages of which Love and Care is supporting only around 1000 ” Love and Care for His Little One’s ministry hopes to work as a bridge between the diaspora and the many Ethiopians and others in the following areas: ⁃ Allow you support the kids with your skills ⁃ Support with your finance ⁃ Make one kid your friend/family ⁃ Arrange visits to any of the orphanages that we are part of. As we read in Matthew 25:40 “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”, the Lord had has his heart for His little ones.
